Northwest Florida Defense Support Initiatives Team Washington, DC Fly-In February 24 – February 26, 2020
The Defense Support Initiatives (DSI) team will be traveling to Washington, DC for education and advocacy on February 24th在2月26日th.
The DSI is a military issues advocacy group sponsored by the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County. It is comprised of 25 community and business leaders, including retired military personnel, defense contractors and representation from the seven Military Affairs Committees from Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties surrounding Eglin AFB. The mission of the DSI is to support and promote the local military installations, missions and their positive economic contributions to the tri-county area.
As an issues focused advocacy group, the DSI interfaces at the local, state and Federal levels on topics of local, regional and national interest. As applicable, position papers and specific actions are prepared and shared with CODEL, Pentagon staffs and Tallahassee leaders.
2020 Fly-In Priorities Include:
In addition to Florida Congressional Delegation leaders, meetings will include leadership of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
