EFI has an international office in Mexico City that serves Mexican companies.

With $6.5 billion in total merchandise trade between Mexico and Florida in 2019, Mexico is Florida’s seventh-largest bilateral merchandise trade partner, with bilateral trade growing by 47.4% over the past five years and 52.2% in the past ten years. Mexican-owned companies with offices/branches operating in Florida span a range of industries, including telecommunications, manufacturing, entertainment, food processing and more.

According to Dun & Bradstreet, there are 42 Mexican companies with 525 branch locations in Florida. Mexican companies with a presence in Florida account for 5,200 jobs, making Mexico the twelfth-largest foreign investor in Florida.

As Florida’s second-largest import partner in 2018 — with over $7.5 billion in total imports, leading imports from Mexico included vehicles for transporting persons and goods, fruit juices, men’s and boy’s clothing, jewelry and precious metal, and oil (not crude). Florida exports to Mexico totaled over $3.3 billion in 2018, and top exports included aircraft, yachts, mineral or chemical fertilizers, automatic regulating or control instruments, jewelry, precious metal and automatic data process machines.

In 2019, Mexico ranked sixth in the number of visitors to Florida with over half a million traveling to the state.
