Largest security exhibition in Latin America provides worldwide exposure for small and mid-sized Florida companies
ORLANDO, FL (June 9, 2015)– Today, Secretary of Commerce and Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) president and CEO, Bill Johnson, announced that the EFI-led trip toExpo Seguridadresulted in more than $6.5 million in total projected sales for six Florida security companies. The show, held April 28-30 in Mexico City, was the largest security event in Latin America and drew attendance from nearly 30 countries.
Secretary Johnson said, “EFI’s international trade team is laser-focused on helping businesses that seek to expand their footprint in the global market. It’s no secret that companies that export grow more quickly and are more resilient to domestic economic downturns. Shows like Expo Seguridad allow us to help small businesses grow and demonstrate Florida’s standing as a business state to the international security sector.”
Enterprise Florida provided Target Sector Trade Show Grants to four of the companies in attendance. Through its Tampa Bay and Mexico City regional offices, EFI scheduled a number of appointments in addition to the normal agenda for grant-receiving companies.
The participating companies included:
Pedro Carrasquillo, Business Development Manager at DITEK said, “Attending Expo Seguridad is imperative for our company to reach a mass market such as Mexico and Central & South America. Enterprise Florida’s support and sponsorship was essential and allowed our company to generate attention, leads, sales and networking in Latin America.”
克雷格Johnson, CEO of Field Forensics said, “We had two missions when we went to the show – to find a good distributor for the Mexican forensics & security markets and to meet prospective customers. I consider both missions successful in that we now have two strong candidates for distributorships and we met several prospective customers with immediate need for our products. Without the help of the trade grant, we would not have been able to participate and I’m very glad we did.”
